Evergreen Sales Email Funnel: How to Introduce Your Offer to Every New Subscriber

An evergreen sales email funnel is an automated series of emails that starts when someone joins your list. It introduces one offer over time, so people are aware of the offer and ready to buy. Sometimes just called an evergreen email funnel. There are different ways to build one, and mine is called the Offer Awareness Email Funnel. It is built for colder subscribers who just joined through a collab, a bundle or an ad. It is usually 7 to 15 emails sent over the first few weeks for offers above $500.

I realised a need for an offer awareness funnel, aka the evergreen sales email funnel. Despite having 10,000 subscribers, people joining had no idea what my main offer was. I had amazing offers; yet my offers were invisible to the people coming onto my list.

So whenever I went to launch, people had no idea I actually had this offer. I had to nurture them from the beginning before they could even consider it. I kept thinking that if I just got more people onto my list, it would get easier. It never did, because nobody joining my list was ever introduced to my offer properly.

When the funnel is running, your launches feel very different. Your list is not hearing about your offer for the first time. They are being invited to act on something they already understand.

Why Growing Your List Isn’t Enough

We put so much energy into lead magnets, collaborations, bundles and ads to bring new people onto our lists. But what happens once they join?

Usually they get a welcome sequence, then your regular emails, and every now and then a mention of your offer. There is nothing wrong with that. But if you have a few different lead magnets, you probably have a few different welcome sequences too. And most of them are about you, which gets repetitive over time. Someone who joined through a collaboration last week might enjoy your emails and still have no idea what your main offer is, who it is for, or why they would need it. The quality and relevance of the lead magnet or entry offers affect who enters the funnel. I have a detailed blog on creating high-converting lead magnets to make sure you bring in aligned people into your funnel.

You could send every new subscriber straight into a sales sequence, and a sales sequence is worth having. But I find they work best for warmer people. Someone who downloaded a free checklist yesterday through a collab or an ad is cold, and they are not ready for seven days of “buy from me.” They need time to feel welcomed into your world, understand your philosophy and your methods, and see how you work before they will consider buying.

So I wanted something in the middle. You still nurture them and welcome them, but you also introduce your signature offer from different angles. This matters most for offers above $500, because people need more touchpoints and more trust before they invest that much.

How Is My Evergreen Sales Email Funnel (the Offer Awareness Email Funnel) Different From Typical Evergreen Sales Funnels?

The visual flow of Evergreen Sales Email Funnel

We build evergreen sales funnels to push toward a purchase, often with a countdown timer or a deadline. These work best for people who are already warm. My evergreen sales email funnel, which I call the Offer Awareness Email Funnel, works differently. We design it for cold/new subscribers, and there is no need to add sales urgency into it.

It is also different from an evergreen nurture sequence, which shares useful content and doesn’t sell anything. I have Candid Takeaways and Money Making Mondays as my evergreen series. And it is also different from an evergreen webinar or lead magnet funnel, which starts from a different entry point. This sequence is set up entirely via email, and it is built around one specific offer.

Each email is the best content you have about your offer. The emails work together to nurture the person while introducing the offer from a different angle every time. By the end, they either buy or they understand it clearly, and after that they move into your regular emails already knowing you inside and out.

I call it an awareness funnel because I can’t promise that everyone who goes through it will buy. What I can say is that almost everyone who joins your list will know about your core offer within their first 30 days, which is something most of us never get around to. And in my own business, when I sold the same offer after I started using this funnel, my sales were 30% higher than they had been when I sold it before.

What Emails Go Inside an Evergreen Sales Email Funnel?

In my Offer Awareness Email Funnel, the emails come from six types, and each one does a different job in moving a subscriber from not knowing your offer to being ready to decide on it.

Visual of 6 types of emails in Evergreen email sales funnel
  1. Problem aware emails name the real problem your subscriber is dealing with, so they read it and think, “yes, that is exactly what is happening to me.”
  2. Thought provoking and belief shifting emails help them see their situation differently, especially the beliefs that quietly keep them from taking action.
  3. Solution aware emails speak to the people who have already tried something and show them why your approach is different.
  4. Offer story emails use your story or a client’s story to show what changes when someone goes through your offer.
  5. Social proof emails share real results with enough context for your subscriber to think, “that could be me.”
  6. Offer explanation emails explain your offer directly, with each email covering one angle, like the support, the structure or who it is for.

These six types do not follow a fixed order. How many of each you need depends on your audience and your offer, and the sequence should read like a conversation, not a formula. You also do not need to write brand new content for every email. Your best emails and stories about the offer are usually the right place to start.

How Many Emails Should an Evergreen Sales Email Funnel Have?

For offers above $500, I recommend 7 to 15 emails. You can send them every day or every other day, so the whole funnel runs for anywhere from one week to about a month, depending on how many emails you write and how you space them.

Offers above $500 need more touchpoints because people need more trust before they invest, and this is the kind of offer I built the funnel for. If your offer is between $100 and $500, 7 to 10 emails is usually enough. Below $100, I would not use it at all, because sending someone 10 or 15 emails about a $100 offer is too much.

What Mistakes Should You Avoid When Building an Evergreen Sales Email Funnel?

These are the mistakes I see most often when people build an evergreen sales email funnel.

Making every email a pitch. If every email says “here is my offer, buy it,” your subscribers will feel like they are reading one long sales email. Let each one do a different job, and let the offer come in naturally.

Promoting too many offers at once. Start with one offer, the one you most want people to buy consistently. You can still talk about your other offers in your regular emails.

Setting it up and never looking at it again. Your offer, your results and your stories will change. Look over your funnel every few months and update the proof and the explanations so it keeps working for the people joining today.

Ready to Build Your Own?

Your subscribers are already joining your list, so the question is whether they are getting to know the offer you most want them to buy. An evergreen sales email funnel gives you a way to introduce it to every new subscriber automatically, and the Offer Awareness Email Funnel lets you do it while you nurture them.
